About Conity
Conity is a sophisticated web software platform developed by The Ohio State University Spine Research Institute (SRI). This product is the culmination of more than four decades of foundational research supported by substantial federal and state funding. Designed for both healthcare professionals and various commercial or government organizations, Conity provides a comprehensive toolset for managing and tracking patients’ or employees’ back pain and their associated risk of spine-related injuries. Users gain access to a holistic suite of digital biomarkers derived from multiple data sources, all within a single platform. A key differentiating feature is the ability to compare individual results against extensive normative databases, leveraging a powerful proprietary software and hardware package to offer unparalleled data-driven insights.
The Problem
Conity required a compelling, public-facing digital presence that could effectively serve as the primary educational resource for prospective customers. A critical aspect of the website’s mission was not merely to describe the product, but to first and foremost articulate the scale of the public health problem (the prevalence of spine disorders) that Conity is designed to address, backed by quantifiable statistics. Beyond the educational and marketing mandate, the website also needed to be a functional resource, providing clear pathways for users to receive help and support and easily access necessary technical resources, such as plugins and drivers, required for the proprietary hardware and software package.
The Solution
To meet these multifaceted requirements, a new web presence was engineered and deployed on an easy-to-use and easy-to-manage Content Management System (CMS). The selection of this CMS was paramount to ensure that the client could maintain full control over the website, allowing for the easy addition of new pages and content management without reliance on external developers. To address the support and resource needs, an easy and intuitive knowledge center was implemented. Finally, the design and underlying code were developed with a flexible design and layout in mind, ensuring the platform is positioned to accommodate future feature releases, content expansion, and sustained organizational growth.
The Result
The successful implementation of a new front-facing website delivered significant benefits, establishing a powerful digital anchor for the Conity platform. By clearly explaining the statistics behind prevalent spine disorders, the website immediately grounds the product’s value proposition in data, building trust and urgency with potential clients. The creation of a dedicated, intuitive knowledge center provides an accessible source for support, technical drivers, and essential plugins, thereby reducing friction for new and existing users while minimizing direct support inquiries to the client’s team. Ultimately, the new CMS and flexible architecture not only solved the immediate need for a robust educational and support portal but also provided a future-proof foundation capable of scaling with Conity’s anticipated growth in the specialized field of spine research and risk management.
