Manual processes slowing down equipment growth
As equipment sales and rentals surged, Right Way Medical outgrew its internal Access database. The system couldn’t scale to manage the complexities of tracking the movement and servicing of high-value infusion pumps, scheduling routine cleanings and preventative maintenance, providing customers with real-time visibility into rented or owned assets, or supporting secure remote access for customers and internal teams.
To sustain their growth trajectory and improve operational efficiency, Right Way Medical needed a secure, scalable asset tracking system tailored to their unique workflows.

Discovering the full lifecycle of medical asset management
Switchbox led a comprehensive discovery process to understand both Right Way Medical’s existing Access database system and their evolving business needs as equipment sales surged. We mapped the complete lifecycle of each device—from receipt through rental, maintenance, and billing—and identified the role-based access requirements for both internal staff and customers.
The architecture was designed with scalability in mind, capable of accommodating new devices and healthcare product lines as the company expanded its offerings.

Switchbox built Right Track—a web-based platform custom-built to manage the full lifecycle of medical equipment. Key features included: automated maintenance scheduling, routine cleanings, and equipment testing workflows; tracking and visibility into the location, condition, and usage history of each pump; billing tools to calculate charges based on lease, rent, or ownership agreements; role-based user access allowing internal staff and customers to manage and monitor assets securely from anywhere; and custom reporting and trend forecasting to anticipate service demands and plan for future growth.
