Sixty-plus years in the field. A website that finally shows it.

Switchbox delivered a dual-stack website rebuild for Southeastern Equipment—pairing WordPress for marketing flexibility with a custom Ruby on Rails backend for inventory management—replacing a legacy site that was holding back staff productivity and brand perception.

The Challenge

A website that couldn't keep up

Southeastern Equipment came to Switchbox struggling with a legacy website that was holding them back. The site was visually outdated, hard to navigate, and—most critically—painfully inefficient for staff managing inventory. Updating listings for new, used, and rental equipment was a slow, manual process that drained internal resources and bottlenecked productivity.

Our Approach

A dual-stack strategy for two distinct audiences

Switchbox evaluated Southeastern Equipment’s needs across two distinct user groups: the marketing team managing public-facing content, and the admin team managing equipment listings for new, used, and rental inventory.

We designed a two-platform architecture pairing WordPress 5.0 for marketing flexibility with a custom Ruby on Rails admin backend—ensuring seamless API integration between the customer-facing site and internal systems without sacrificing speed or usability.

What We Built

A dual-stack approach for marketing and inventory power

Switchbox delivered a two-part solution tailored to Southeastern’s needs. WordPress 5.0 provides a modern, flexible content management system—giving the marketing team easy control over content updates, page creation, and visual assets.

A custom Ruby on Rails admin backend streamlines how staff manage equipment listings, handle data updates, and process API requests. Together, this hybrid architecture allows for seamless integration between the customer-facing site and internal systems—without compromising usability or speed.

The Results

Faster updates, smoother workflows, stronger brand

Southeastern now runs on a sleek, fully redesigned website with intuitive navigation, updated visuals, and a back-end system that actually works for their team. The marketing department can launch content faster, while the admin team can manage equipment with fewer headaches and delays.

It’s a transformation that’s as functional as it is future-ready.
